Speedwind becomes first Cambodian distribution company to win coveted ‘HR Asia: Best Company To Work For In Asia 2022’ award

Speedwind, a market-leading distribution service in Cambodia, has been named one of the best companies to work for in Asia, marking the first time the award has been given to a distribution company in Cambodia.

The HR Asia awards, organised by HR Asia Magazine, are designed to recognize organizations that gain a comparative advantage through their people development efforts based on a concise engagement and advocacy survey with a strong emphasis on employee engagement.

Chairman of Speedwind Distributions, Mr. Dalton Wong, said that he is honored to receive the award in just their first year of application, and he is proud of his team and their dynamic and progressive business vision.

“I am happy that, even during the COVID-19 pandemic, we prioritized our team’s well-being and job satisfaction.”

“I am very much aware that while we can only provide the physical workplace and put in place pragmatic policies, ultimately, it is the people in management and our HR team that implement these policies to make the company a conducive and amazing place to work.”

“Therefore, it is they who are the ones who are truly the recipients of this award and I believe it is a most appropriate way of recognizing their invaluable contributions,” he added.

Promoting diversity and inclusion in the workplace

This year’s award theme, namely Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, focused on the efforts of companies in promoting diversity and inculcating inclusion in the workplace while retaining HR Asia’s stringent evaluation criteria.

In total, 148 Cambodian companies and 9,200 employees took part in HR Asia’s proprietary Total Engagement Assessment Model, which is used to assess companies. This works by employees ranking employers on metrics ranging from workplace happiness and team cohesion to employee advocacy and continued job motivation.

A representative from HR Asia said that Speedwind has been chosen in its first year of applying because of the safe, secure and flexible environment it has created for its staff.

Speedwind’s management and employees from various departments and functions.

“During the COVID-19 pandemic, Speedwind arranged for all employees to receive their COVID-19 vaccinations, along with health tracking support and Covid-19 testing – all provided by the company. Employees who got the virus were provided healthy food care packages to aid their recuperation, as well as medication for treating COVID-19.”

“The company also allows for flexible working arrangements which help staff plan their work-life balance.”

“A happy workforce is a productive workforce, and Speedwind is deserving of this award because of the supportive and enabling environment that it provides for its staff,” they added.

Speedwind helps Cambodian businesses work remotely

Speedwind Services has a network of business hubs across Cambodia that help companies and individuals run their businesses remotely without being tied down by a physical location or investing in physical resources.

They boast some 43 branches across Cambodia serving as a contact point, helping provide customer service and general support to customers and consumers on behalf of their business.

The company is also the sole authorized distributor for Cellcard, one of the biggest telco operators in Cambodia.
